aboutus

In February 2015, one of our founders went to a job interview. He had applied for something that was more or less his dream job. The employer was a recognized company, only accepting the very best. Even getting an interview is hard there. On the paper everything was a perfect match. He had the skills, the experience, the ambitions and good reflections on how he could contribute for future growth for the company.

In the interview, things did not go well. What was a good match on the paper, wasn’t a good match during those 60 minutes of conversation and question and answers. It didn’t take long before they called him and told him that he was out of the race.

But, he used the feedback to investigate what went wrong, and the company told him that it was two things they had discussed after the interview; He seemed unprepared, and they didn’t get to know him as well as they hoped.

THE

TEAM

With this experience, and feedback, he now started to interview friends, colleagues, recruiters and reading research on the topic. And when he finally shared what he had learned with psychologists and professional coaches he understood what he should have done better. This is where ‘he’ becomes ‘we’ and we’re a team on the mission of making everyone succeed on interviews. We are ‘Jobs To Be Yours’!

A job interview is not about showing up and having a question and answering-session. It is an opportunity for the hiring company to get to know you, and if you are able to communicate in an easy, convincing, confidant way that’s a good first step. The company wants to know what you are bringing to the position, and to the environment (cultural match). The company do not only look at the upside of hiring a new person, they also consider the downside. Meaning the cost by hiring wrong person.

Our research also points at very different motivation for wanting that new job amongst job seekers. The most common reasons are new opportunities (more responsibility), higher salary and wanting to get a way from the current job. If you fail to show the right motivation for the new position, the hiring company will see right through you and you will receive the same call as our founder did in 2015.

importance

effort

Regardless of your motivation; the more important the new job is, the more effort you should put into preparing for the interview. Lucky for you, the search is over. We have failed for you, done the research and made the solution. Coaching is now made easy, affordable and digital! It is time for you to succeed in your next interview!

Good luck, the team; Jobs To Be Yours.
